Network Access Code
There seems to be alot of confusion over this, and there is really no need. If you have a japanease imported PSP you will have some problems playing online with it using europe games, and you will also have some problems registering it to get your gift pack, all thanks to Sony's "unhelpful hand" towards importers.

Ok I imported a PSP from jap, of course the jap packages DO NOT come with the Network Access Key, this is due to the fact that the US and Japan do not use the same servers or servers or whatever.

UK PSP packages DO come with a little red slip with your Key on, so DO UK PS2 slimlines or the PS2 network adapters.

Basically if you have imported a PSP from anywhere outside of Europe you aint got the key.(and i think austraila use the keys and some other places too)

There are only 5 known ways to get this key..

1) Buy a Slimline PS2 with built in network adaptor
2) Buy a PS2 network adaptor
3) Dont import and buy one from europe (yeh too late for that one^^)
4) Beg a code from a friend
5) Ring up Sony... its not as hard as it sounds in fact so I could show you how easy it is I recorded the conversation and converted it to text for your viewing pleasure... and no, none of this is made up.

Sony Helpline: Is that you?

Me: Hello?

Sony Helpline: Oh its not you... *stutter* ... Good evening this is the Sony technical helpline for PSP networking, how may I help you sir?

Me: Hi, when I got my PSP I didn’t have the Network Access key bundled with it, I got it second hand from my local game shop and there wasn’t one included. (Lies all lies)

Sony Helpline: ok I just need some of your details, your name sir?

Me: >insert name here<

Sony Helpline: And your postcode please.

Me: >insert postcode here<

Sony Helpline: Ok I just need your E-mail now please and we can mail you a new one.

Me: >Insert E-mail here<

Sony Helpline: Ok that has been sent, make sure you check your junk folder, it could take up to 24 hours.

Me: Ok thanks

Sony Helpline: Goodbye....... (Hangs up)

==============================

Don't mail them, its a waste of time, they just mail your back a phone number... look in the back of your PSP manual, SOCOM, or any game your have they all have the help lines in the back.

Then register your network account... Simple.

NOW!

Some people where asking about the registering the PSP unit to get the free UMD holder etc. This is even simpler. (Provided by teampsp)

-Visit YourPSP.com
--Sign up in the top right hand corner
---Fill in all your details ( don’t lie, it does check dates against model numbers etc.)
----When asked for your serial number, if you enter your Jap serial number (Starting with SJ or FJ), it will inform you that you cannot register it. Instead, replace the first 2 letters with SB.
-----Even though your Jap model number will be PSP-1000, change it to PSP-1003

This should allow you to fully register your PSP and receive the pack.

That’s basically it, nothing to complex nothing to demanding, if your start right now you can have it fully ready to play online in about 24 hours MAX unless the PSP helpline don’t hear you say your mail right and send it to some1 else....... yeh it happened to me.

Good luck and happy gaming
If you are looking for your network access code it should be 14 characters long with a gap in the middle e.g. 1356886-5754858. This should be found in your PSP box on a red paper.

Good luck
